Habitat and Distribution
Cod fish are demersal, meaning they live near the ocean floor, usually at depths ranging from 200 to 300 meters. They are native to the North Atlantic Ocean, with significant populations in areas like the Barents Sea, North Sea, and the waters off Iceland and Greenland. Pacific cod are found in the North Pacific, particularly in the Bering Sea and around Alaska.
