The pollutants in sea may become dispersed by turbulence and ocean currents and finally becomes a part of food chain. Bioaccumulation in food chain may result into loss of species diversity. The pollution in Baltic sea along the coast of Finland, took place largely from sewage and effluents from wood industries. This pollution effect brought changes. in species diversity in the bottom fauna.
