Pesticides are substances, which kill pests and disease vectors of agriculture and public health importance. Pesticides are subdivided into groups according to target organisms:

• Insecticides; kill insects

• Rodenticides; kill rats and mice

• Herbicides; kill weeds

• Nematicides; kill nematodes
